Blast - Membership dues, Outreach, Library, and Guild Projects

The link for the Zoom meeting and the Bee to register for either or both are in the news letter.  You can register anytime and you will get a reminder email with the link the day before.

Membership dues are due.  Since 2020 has been such a difficult year and we have missed so many meetings, the Executive Board voted to offer an optional reduction in dues for renewing members only from $30.00 to $20.00.  This is a one-time change and is available until close of the meeting on November 9 2020. Mail your dues to Diane Cox, 9617 Windsor Drive, LSMO 64086 or give them her at the October and November Guild meetings.

Outreach is in need of fabric for the various projects.  We need more blenders, background fabric and focal prints.  Sizes needed are from 3” up to yardage any length.  No scraps please.  Any fabrics that will not work will be passed to boutique or saved for the free table.   We will have a wagon set up for contributions at the drive through and one set up inside for those attending the in-person meeting.

Library Books will be collected again this month in the drive through by Joy.  If you miss Joy, you can give your books to Nancy Solsberg and she will see they get to Joy.

Possible Guild Projects for the new year:

Mystery Quilt – possibly a Pat Speth design.

Applique challenge: small piece with set design but infinite possibilities for color and embellishments of your choice.

Challenge fabric:  members get at fat quarter of one fabric that can be used anywhere in any design the quilter chooses.  Fun to see how different the results can be.

Repeat the Pizza Box Challenge

Fat Quarter raffle: donate a themed FQ [batik, black and white, etc.] at each meeting and get a ticket to win the fat quarters.

All ideas and comments are welcome. Email LynnKSievers@gmail.com or text 281-300-0476 by the end of November so the coming year guild projects can be fun for all who wish to participate.  Thanks!
